    How to Connect a Wireless Router to a Laptop?
    Buy a wireless router according to your needs and one which fits your budget. Before you connect, check if your Internet access connection is working.
    Set up the router and the Internet connections as per the instructions mentioned in the manual. This will be required to set up the connection of the wired client to the router.
    After the wired router has been set up properly, you do not need this wired connection any more. However, for safety purpose, it is better to have the wired client connected so that, if anything goes wrong with the wireless connection or the laptop where you are going to set up the Wi-Fi, then you can access the admin interface through this wired connection.
    For setting up the wireless client, you will need to assemble information from the Service Set Identifier (SSID), Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) key, the channel and the mode.
     The next step consists of booting up the system and plugging in the Wi-Fi card. This step is applicable only if your laptop is not en-grafted with the Wi-Fi card.
    After this, install the drivers required for the usage of the Wi-Fi card. Insert the disc which comes along with the Wi-Fi card and follow the pop up instructions appearing on the screen.
    If you have followed the instructions properly, the installation will be successful and a Wi-Fi connection icon will appear at the bottom of the screen.
     Double click this icon and then click on “properties” and select the “wireless network tab”.
     If your Wi-Fi network is not visible in the “Available Connections” list, then click on the add button which is present at the bottom of the dialog box.
    After your network’s SSID becomes present in the available connections list, click on configure and enter the network’s SSID and WEP keys.
    The last and final step is to click on the “start” button and then the “connect to” and “Wireless Network Connection” button. After this if everything is done properly, you can access the Wi-Fi network and the Internet.
    How to Connect a Wireless Router to a Wired Router?
    Log into the admin interface on the wireless router. Disable the DHCP connection. Change the IP address of the wireless router and make it different from that of the wired router. This will avoid the conflicts when dealing with the admin interface of either of the router.
    Connect a cable to one of the LAN ports on the wired router and then connect this same cable to the LAN port of the wireless router. No cable should be plugged in the WAN port of the wireless router.
    By doing this, you change your wireless router to a switch. You also by pass the built-in firewall of your wireless router which will help the local computer to connect freely to the other computer.
    Another way is to open all the ports which are required for the service you want.
